WedShoots alternative: PICVIN vs WedShoots for wedding guest photos
WedShoots is a free wedding photo album app from Bodas.net in which guests install the app and join with a code. PICVIN is a paid-per-event gallery that guests open in the browser from a QR code, with no app and no account. If the sticking point with WedShoots is the install, PICVIN is the alternative; if you want free above all, WedShoots remains free. The facts below are from WedShoots's public page on 8 November 2026.

What WedShoots is
WedShoots is a private wedding photo album run by Bodas.net, the Spanish site of The Knot Worldwide group that also runs Hitched in the UK. Its page, read on 8 November 2026, says everything is free. You create an album, receive a code and share it with guests by email, social media or on the invitations. The page says all the guests will have the code and the app, and shows App Store and Google Play badges.
Features listed on the page include uploading as many photos as you want, filters, sharing to WhatsApp, comments and likes, a projector mode to show photos during the event, and downloading all the photos in high resolution. The page does not mention video or a QR code.
What PICVIN is
PICVIN is a gallery per event that guests reach by scanning a QR code or tapping a link. The upload page opens in the browser; nobody installs anything or creates an account. Guests pick photos from their phone or take one on the spot, add a first name if they like, and upload. On Premium and Permanent they can upload videos too.
The organiser gets albums inside the event, photos sorted by the time they were taken, deletion of any photo from the dashboard, a removal request anyone in a photo can send, and a ZIP download of the whole event. Hosting is on Cloudflare under EU jurisdiction.
The install is the difference
With WedShoots, every guest who wants to share a photo has to find the app in the store, install it and enter the album code. Some will. The ones who will not are usually the older relatives and the guests who take a photo at 11pm and would have uploaded it if it took ten seconds.
With PICVIN the path is the QR code on the table and the browser. That is the whole trade: PICVIN costs money and asks less of your guests; WedShoots is free and asks more of them.
Price
WedShoots: free, as stated on its page on 8 November 2026.
PICVIN: a free trial of 3 days and 20 photos from the first upload, then Standard at US$10.99 for 1 year, Premium at US$21.99 with videos and more storage, or Permanent at US$54.99 with no expiry. One payment per event, VAT included.
Features side by side
Where WedShoots has more: it is free, it has a projector mode for showing photos during the event, and it has comments, likes and filters. PICVIN has none of those.
Where PICVIN has more: no app and no account for guests, a QR code generated for you, videos on Premium and Permanent, albums inside the event, capture-time order, a removal request from the gallery, EU hosting under the GDPR, and a plan that never expires if you choose Permanent. WedShoots's page did not say how long albums are kept.
Which to pick
Pick WedShoots if the budget for this is zero and your guests are the kind who will install an app for you. Pick PICVIN if you would rather pay once and know that every guest, whatever their phone or their patience, can upload from the browser in a few seconds.

How to collect wedding photos from guests, before, during and after the day
The way to collect wedding photos from guests is to give them one place to put them and ask while they are still in the room. In practice that means a QR code on every table that opens a shared gallery in the browser, a line in the speeches, and one follow-up message the next morning with the same link. Everything else, hashtags, WhatsApp groups, emailing round, loses most of the photos. Here is how to set it up and what to say.
